Fundraising Video Production for NGOs and Charities
Fundraising and donor videos for charities and NGOs in Kenya and East Africa. Honest, dignified storytelling that helps donors see the change they fund.

Institutional funding is harder to find than it was two years ago. Many organisations we speak to are now raising money from individuals, companies, the diaspora and Kenyan donors. Those donors want to see the work and the people behind it. A good fundraising film does that in two minutes.
We make fundraising films that are honest, specific and dignified. No suffering staged for the camera, no AI-generated faces and no stock footage of a different country. We film real people who have agreed to share their story, and we show what changed because of the work you do.
Fundraising films we make
- Appeal films for campaigns, crowdfunding pages and giving days such as GivingTuesday.
- Major-donor and foundation films to play in a meeting or send ahead of a proposal.
- Corporate partnership films that show a company’s staff and customers what their support achieved.
- Donor thank-you and impact-report videos that bring supporters back for the next gift.
- Short social versions, vertical and subtitled, for TikTok, Instagram and WhatsApp.
What makes a fundraising film work
In our experience, and in most of the sector research we follow, the films that raise money share a few things. One person’s story rather than a list of statistics. A clear problem, a clear change and a clear ask. Your own staff and community members speaking in their own words, in the language they are most comfortable in. And a length that suits the platform: under a minute for social, two to three minutes for a website or a meeting.
We plan every fundraising film around the ask. Before we film, we agree who the donor is, what you want them to give, and what they need to believe to give it.
Ethics are part of the product
Donors are more sceptical than they used to be. Campaigns that used AI-generated images of poverty drew heavy criticism in 2025, and Kenya’s data protection regulator now expects written, purpose-specific consent for publishing identifiable people. Every Afrovo fundraising film comes with a consent record for each participant and a note on permitted uses. You can say, truthfully, that everyone in your film is real and chose to be there.
Recent work
Hope Behind the Floods followed Give a Hand Charity’s recovery work in Kisumu after the floods, focusing on rebuilding rather than on tragedy. Path to Zero Poaching for Teledyne FLIR and WWF showed how truck-mounted thermal cameras are helping Kenyan rangers bring poaching down.

Frequently asked questions
We have a small budget. Is a fundraising film still worth it?
Often, yes, if it is planned around one campaign and reused. A single shoot day can produce an appeal film, several social clips and a set of photographs for your website and reports.
Can the film be in Kiswahili?
Yes. We interview in Kiswahili or English and can deliver both versions with subtitles.
Can you film with children?
Yes, with parental or guardian consent, the child’s own agreement and your safeguarding lead involved. Where needed we protect identity by not showing faces or names.
